Giants shutdown the Falcons, 24-2

Marty Ice was ice cold as he and the Falcons offense was shut down all game long. The only points for the Falcons came on an intentional grounding by Eli Manning in the End Zone. Those were the first points and the only points in the game for Atlanta. The Giants were well balanced on offense as Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw steadily picked up yards and Eli was efficient enough. Green Bay better be concerned in the solid Giants defense next Sunday.

Brees has broken the all-time single season passing record, Saints rout Atlanta 45-16

5087 passing yards in an NFL season is unheard of, that is until today. Drew Brees broke Dan Marino's single season record for most passing yards in an NFL season as he tossed the ball to Darren Sproles to score a TD late in the game, which broke the record. It was all New Orleans on MNF as they routed the Falcons and showed them that the Saints are the cream of the crop in the south as they clinched the NFC South title. It was only fitting for the record to be broken in the Superdome on primetime TV in front of thousands of Saints fans. The record can be set next week, but after the playoffs, will Brees return to New Orleans or will he leave for a bigger team?

Falcons rip the Jags, 41-14

This game wasn't even close... Matt Ryan and Michael Turner showed why the Falcons will make it to the playoffs on national television. Blaine Gabbert was pestered all night in the Georgia Dome and the game got out of hand too quickly to run the ball with Maurice Jones-Drew. I'm still not sold on the Falcons making a playoff push, but if they can oust New Orleans for home-field advantage, anything can happen in the playoffs, especially in the Georgia Dome.

Altlanta tops Philly, 35-31. Vick leaves early with a neck injury and concussion

It wasn't pretty, but Matty Ice proved he was the man in Atlanta tonight. Ryan passed for 4 TDs including two to Tony Gonzalez. Atlanta scored 14 points in the final quarter as Michael Turner ran for the go-ahead touchdown with 4:48 to go. Second year back-up QB Mike Kafca led Philadelphia to the Redzone with 1:45 to go, but Jeremy Maclin dropped the 4th down conversion. Atlanta moves to 1-1 in a wild game at the Georgia Dome as Falcon fans left happy after seeing their old QB in Michael Vick and their new QB in Matt Ryan.
