Peterson given 7 year, $100 million contract extension
The Minnesota Vikings gave RB Adrian Peterson a $100 million contract extension with $36 million guarenteed over the next 7 years. The contract will expire in 2017, when Peterson turns 32 which is a relatively old age for an NFL RB. On the Dan Patrick show, Peterson stated that he was worth $100 million and more than both Chris Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald, who were both given long term deals this offseason. Peterson will prove if he is worth the money this Sunday against the Chargers as he'll try to break the NFL record of 296 rushing yards he set the last time Minnesota played San Diego.
