Raiders best the Chargers on TNF, 24-17

Carson Palmer did just enough to get past the San Diego Chargers on Thursday Night Football as Oakland reclaimed first place in the AFC West. The Chargers never helped themselves as Philip Rivers continued to show he is not the elite quarterback we all thought he was. He continued to make critical mistakes and Oakland did enough to top San Diego. Rookie Denarius Moore caught two of Palmer's touchdowns as the costly quarterback didn't play pretty but at the moment, he's doing what Hue Jackson brought him in for.

Raiders get Carson Palmer for a 2012 1st-round pick and a 2013 2nd-round pick

Mike Brown and his Cincinatti Bengals finally let Palmer leave as they traded him to the Oakland Raiders for two high draft picks. The 4-2 Raiders will look to replace an injured Jason Campbell with the 8th year veteran. Both teams should benefit as the Bengals will receive young talent and Oakland will receive a solid veteran. Palmer might be shaky so there is some risk for the Raiders since he has been retired for a year. The Bengals should definitely receive their share of the trade, but Oakland must make the playoffs to justify such a big trade.

Terrelle Pryor is now an Oakland Raider

Terrelle Pryor was selected by the Oakland Raiders during the NFL supplemental draft. The former Ohio State quarterback was given a 4 year deal after Pryor opted to leave college due to a suspension for his memorabilia-for-money scandal. The QB will face a 5 game suspension for the beginning of the season issued by Roger Goodell. Oakland has three quarterbacks so it will be interesting to see if they develop Pryor into a QB or a WR. (Pryor played both positions at Ohio State) Terrelle will not be allowed to wear the number 2 because the Raiders don't want to be reminded of Jamarcus Russell.
