Cats top the Bruins in the Pac-12 Tournament, 66-58

This is what I think of Ucla Basketball

The Cats went into the Staple Center at the start of the Pac 12 tourney as underdogs, since they were playing in the same arena that has served as the Bruin's den for most of the season. However, the Bruins were in for a rude awakening as the Wildcats came into the game and attacked all night long. The Cats went in and out, driving the lane and shooting the trey as Solomon Hill scored 25 points. UCLA would collect a total of 24 fouls with Joshua Smith and Travis Wear fouling out. The Cats will now wait to play either Washington or Oregon State.

The Cats could ill-afford another loss in the regular season. They showed off their unconventional grey unis on CBS as they played a close game against UCLA in a red-out Mckale Center. It was a rugged game that did not have many outstanding offensive performances as both teams went hard to the rack. Joshua Smith, one of UCLA's big men continued committing fouls, which kept him off of the court. Arizona was then able to take adavantage of the size match-up and the two-starting seniors, Kyle Fogg and Jesse Perry combined for a good inside and outside threat on offense. Foggy would hit a key 3-pointer to put the Cats up by three late in the game, a lead they would not let up.

Cats can't rally past the Bruins, fall 65-58

You don't have to be a college basketball expert to figure out how important Thursday's game against the Ucla Bruins was for the Arizona Wildcats. Beating a preseason favorite (that has faded badly) was important for Sean Miller's squad since it would put them in the upper echelon of Pac 12 basketball, unfortunately they fell short in Anaheim. The Honda Center, an arena with both great and awful Cat's memories from last year's tournament had another poor memory for Arizona. The Bruins fed the ball to their to headed center combo of twins: the Wears. And boy, did they wear down the Cat's will in the paint. Travis Wear had 20 points while his brother David had 14 points. The two combined for 34 points and an astonishing 13-16 as they gave the Cats their fifth loss of the season.

Oregon beats UCLA for the first Pac-12 championship

Oregon is smelling Roses once again after a 49-31 romp of th UCLA Bruins in Autzen Stadium for the inaugural PAC-12 Championship game. Rick Neuheisel's Bruins showed heart, though. After falling into an early 7-0 hole, the Bruins bounced back with a pick-6. However, Oregon's grinding, fast offense with a mix of the cold Oregon air, proved to much for UCLA as the Ducks ran away with the Roses. This was Neuheisel's last game, but it won't be the last for the seniors, since they will be bowl-eligible even with a losing record.

Cats beat up the Bruins 48-12, snap losing streak

Victory is a sweet feeling... Especially when you haven't beaten an FBS opponent in 355 years. That is what the Arizona Wildcats experienced Thursday night on ESPN against the Ucla Bruins, the team's first victory since their win against Ucla last year in the Rose Bowl. The victory marked the first under interim head coach Tim Kish. By halftime, the Cats had stormed out to a commanding 42-7 with help from 3 TDs from Foles to Criner, but a fan dressed as a referee ran onto the field and started streaking. During the confusion, the Cats and Bruins got into a sideline clearing brawl which resulted in 10 player suspensions. The game was very odd in the sense that the Cats dominated on both sides of the ball which hasn't been often this season. Arizona can't afford any more slip ups this season if they want to play in a bowl.
